Choosing a telematics solution built for flexibility
The Energy Stringing division at Tesmec, a global leader in specialized machinery for energy and infrastructure, set out to digitalize their operations. Their previous system offered limited customization, restricted data collection, and constraints in remote fleet management. To support highly customized machines and demanding field conditions, they needed a telematics solution that could handle more detailed data, adapt sampling frequency to operational needs, and offer a portal they could configure independently.

Handling complex data demands
Tesmec’s Energy Stringing division manufactures heavy-duty machinery for installing high-voltage power cables over long distances, both overhead and underground.
These machines must perform under extreme conditions and require precise monitoring and real-time control to ensure safety and reliability. To support this, they needed comprehensive, high-quality data acquisition far beyond basic tracking, and the ability to log and process large volumes of machine data according to their own custom configuration.
The challenge: implementing a solution that can handle large and complex machine data requirements across multiple stakeholders while remaining robust and reliable. Tesmec needed a platform flexible enough to define which parameters to monitor, how frequently to collect them, and how to visualize them for engineering, field operators, and customers.
A scalable, API-driven telematics ecosystem
Proemion implemented the Global Telematics Solution, enabling Tesmec to collect, process, and distribute data across their operations. With our REST API, Tesmec’s development team could easily integrate machine data into their own digital ecosystem and customer-facing platforms.
Initially, Proemion supported Tesmec in setting up the infrastructure and basic configuration. Over time, the Tesmec team became fully autonomous, developing and expanding the solution independently, only approaching Proemion for support in critical or highly customized cases.
When performance bottlenecks arose due to high API request volumes, Proemion optimized the system to ensure continuous data flow, maintaining both speed and reliability.

With Proemion’s telematics solution, Tesmec has transformed both machine support and customer experience. Real-time data and remote diagnostics now enable service teams to identify issues early, reduce downtime, and plan maintenance more effectively — all crucial for machines operating in demanding environments. This data also fuels continuous R&D improvements and supports global fleet visibility through TEO (Tesmec Evolution Onwards), Tesmec’s newly launched digital ecosystem that centralizes multiple connected services in a single, user-friendly platform.
TEO offers customers a more intuitive, accessible, and comprehensive way to monitor machine performance, maintenance status, and service needs, fully leveraging the data delivered through Proemion’s telematics. The platform also allows Tesmec to integrate new services that support faster response to alarms and scheduled maintenance, paving the way for a predictive maintenance approach in the future. At the same time, Tesmec’s internal teams benefit from the autonomy to configure, expand, and integrate additional features without relying on external support.
